Gardaí in Dublin have launched an investigation after a cyclist was injured in a serious assault on Saturday morning.
It is understood the 39-year-old man was injured when he was run over by a black saloon car in the Swans Nest Road, in Kilbarrack at approximately 10:30am.
Gardaí say the man was attacked by a a number of men who got out of the car and started hitting him with weapons, before fleeing the scene.
The man has since been taken to the Beaumont Hospital for treatment.
However it is believed that his injuries are not life-threatening.
Gardaí say they are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area to come forward and contact them.
