Gardaí in Co Kildare have launched an investigation after a man was rushed to hospital following an assault in Leixlip, last night.
It is understood the man aged in his 40s, suffered a number of injuries including multiple stab wounds to his face, after he was attacked by a number of people on Main Street, shortly after 12am.
Gardaí say the man was taken to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown, for treatment.
They added that an investigation is currently ongoing.
