Gardaí in Co Offaly have begun an investigation after a nine-year-old boy was seriously injured following a road traffic incident this afternoon.
It is understood the young boy was taken to Temple Street Children’s Hospital following the incident which occurred in Pullagh area at approximatley 2pm.
Gardaí say the boy who was cycling was struck by a vehicle and has been left in serious condition following the incident.
It is understood the driver of the vehicle was uninjured in the incident.
