Gardai in Cork havd begun an investigation after an elderly woman aged in her 80s was hospitalised following an attempted robbery in Merchant’s Quay.
It is understood that the woman was knocked to the ground after a man attempted to steal her handbag at approximately 12pm on Wednesday afternoon.
Gardai say the woman was later discharged from hospital.
