Gardaí in Co Mayo have begun an investigation following collision between a car and a train on Wednesday afternoon.
The investigation comes after a car was struck by a a train at a level crossing in Kilnageer, at Breaffy, near Castlebar, shortly after 2pm.
Gardaí say two people inside the car managed to escape uninjured whilst thankfully no one on the train was injured following the incident.
