
There was some positive news in terms of tackling the Covid-19 outbreak as the Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan has confirmed that a total of 12,222 people have recovered from COVID-19.
Speaking at the National Public Health Emergency Team briefing, Dr Holohan confirmed that the recovery rate in the community is a 64%.
Dr Holohan also revealed that a total of 1,164 cases were discharged from hospital bringing the overall recovery rate to 70%.
The Chief Medical Officer’s comments come after a further 31 deaths and 376 cases of Covid-19 were confirmed on Wednesday.
