Gardaí in Co Offaly have launched an investigation following a robbery at a post office in Clara on Wednesday.
It is understood the investigation comes after two men wearing balaclavas entered a post office armed with a firearm and a knife before threatening staff.
Gardaí say the men fled the scene with a sum of cash in a Silver Toyota Avensis (07 D registered) which was later found on fire on the Kilbeggan road.
They added that an investigation is currently ongoing.
