Gardaí in Cork have launched an investigation after the body of a man was found on the outskirts of the city this afternoon.
It is understood the investigation comes after the man was found dead on the Boreenmanna Road, at approximately 4pm this afternoon.
Gardaí say the man suffered severe injuries and they believe he may have died violently.
They added that an investigation is currently ongoing.
