Gardaí in Co Wicklow have begun an investigation after the body of a woman was discovered off the coast near Arklow, on Wednesday.
It is understood the investigation comes after the woman’s body was found at approximately 5:45pm on Wednesday evening.
Gardaí say the woman was tragically pronounced dead at the scene and her body has since been taken to Loughlinstown Hospital where a post-mortem examination will take place.
They added the results of the post-mortem will determine the course of their investigation.
