Gardaí have begun an investigation after two firearms were seized in North Dublin on Tuesday.
It is understood the investigation comes after Garda officer recovered a single barrel sawn-off shot gun anf a 22 pistol with four rounds of ammunition in two parked cars in the Finglas area.
Gardai say no arrests have yet been made, but the discovery comes as part of their investigation to tackle organised crime in the area.
They added that they are currently following a number of lines of enquiries.
