In what’s been described as a second such incident in as many weeks, a woman was attacked in the centre of Drogheda, County Louth on Sunday evening.
It’s understood that the woman was walking along the Bridge of Peace in the town centre when she was attacked by a man dressed all in black with a black baseball cap, black hoodie and black face mask.
Thankfully a passerby came to the woman’s assistance and the attacker fled.
Various Facebook posts alerted other women to be vigilant in the town as it’s the second such incident to happen recently.
Gardai are aware of the incident and have appealed for witnesses to contact them at Drogheda Garda Station.
