Gardaí and Revenue and Customs officials have confirmed that €80,000 worth of illegal drugs have been seized after they were discovered at a mailing centre in Portlaoise.
In an announcement Customs officials said 3.9kgs of herbal cannabis and 10.1kgs of khat were discovered in parcels destined for Dublin at the centre.
They also say they believe the parcels were sent from Kenya and Thailand.
It is understood an investigation is currently ongoing.
