Gardaí in Drogheda, Co Louth, have issued an appeal for witnesses to come forward and contact them following a shooting incident in the town on Thursday.
The appeal comes after a man aged in his 30s was shot in the Hardmans Gardens area of the town at approximately 4pm.
It is understood the man was shot in the arm and the leg and was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, where he remains in serious but stable condition.
Gardaí say they are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area and noticed anything suspicious at the time of the incident to come forward and contact them.
