Storm Hannah: Met Eireann have issued two severe gale weather warnings




Met Éireann have issued an Orange and Yellow status warning as strong winds from Storm Hannah are expected to batter the country later today.

The national forecaster say an Orange status warning was issued for counties Clare, Cork, Kerry and Limerick as gusts are expected to reach 130km/h.

That warning is expected to come into effect from 4pm this afternoon and will remain in place until 5am Saturday morning.

Meanwhile the national forecaster say a yellow status warning has been issued for all of Connacht, and counties Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Wexford, Offaly, Wicklow, Tipperary, Waterford and Donegal.

It is expected that warning will remain in place until the early hours of Saturday morning.
