Gardai are appealing for witnesses as body of cyclist found in early hours of Sunday

Early on Sunday morning, the body of a cyclist was found along a road in County Roscommon, reports Independent.

The corpse of a man in his 50s was found in Cloonchambers, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon, at approximately two in the morning. According to Gardaí, they are looking into “all circumstances” surrounding the discovery.

There are limited detours in place while the road is blocked for forensic collision investigators to conduct a technical inspection, reports Independent.

In what gardaí called a “fatal incident,” the cyclist was declared dead at the site. They’ve brought his body to Roscommon University Hospital.

The investigation’s direction will be decided by a post-mortem examination.

The Gardaí are now pleading for anyone who witnessed this event to get in touch with them, reports Independent.
