Gardai have arrested four Brazilian men believed to have been hired as a ‘hit squad’ by a feuding Traveller family. The gang’s alleged targets were three men belonging to another family in the Offaly area.
The men were arrested on Wednesday during an operation involving firearm officers.
The four men, aged in their 20s and 30s, were charged with possession of guns or ammunition, and breaching Covid-19 travel restrictions.
It is understood that Gardai have delivered a ‘threat to life warning’ to the intended targets.
