Gardaí in Cork have arrested a man aged in his 20s following a machete attack in the city on Monday afternoon.
It is understood the arrest comes after a also aged in his 20s was attacked by two men whilst walking through Riverview Estate in Tower at approximately 1.30pm.
Gardai say the man was taken to hospital with a head injury but his injuries are not life-threatening.
They also say that they arrested a man in connection with the incident and are currently searching for another man.
