Clinic selling newborn babies to men in China of a “certain orientation” gets busted in Kiev with several charged with human trafficking

Authorities in Ukraine have raided and shut down a private clinic in Kiev that is suspected of selling babies to people in China.

Police raided the clinic after it became aware of the human trafficking ring which saw babies being sold mainly to single Chinese men of a “certain orientation”.

The raid led to the arrest and charging of the owner of the clinic, her son as well as two male Chinese nationals with human trafficking.

Ukraine’s Deputy Interior Minister Anton Gerashenko announced via social media that as well as the arrests a further 140 Chinese men are under investigation while the exact number of trafficked babies remains unknown.

The price tag placed on a baby was $50,000 which included artificial insemination of a surrogate mom, legal support and organization of sham marriages needed to facilitate smuggling children out of the country and into China.

Five new-born babies who were about to be trafficked were rescued and have been placed in the care of maternity hospitals in Kiev.
