GardaĆ excavating a site in a woodland area at Chapelizod in Dublin, have confirmed they have discovered a gun.
The discovery comes less than a week after a co-ordinated search began at the site as part of the investigation into the disappearance of Trevor Deely who went missing almost 17 years ago.
Although GardaĆ say they are unsure if the gun which was recovered yesterday, is related to the Kildare manās disappearance.
Mr Deely (22) went missing in December 2000 whilst on a night out in Dublin, and GardaĆ have now said they have new information that leads them to believe that he may have been killed by a known criminal.
