Gardaí have confirmed that a life jacket and a helmet believed to that from the Irish Coast Guard Rescue 116 helicopter, have been recovered.
According to RTÉ News, the recovered items were found approximately one nautical mile from Achill Island, last Thursday.
The recovery of the items comes after the Rescue helicopter crashed inti Blackrock Island on the 14th March 2017.
Although the bodies of captain Dara Fitzpatrick and captain Mark Duffy were recovered a short time after the devastating crash, the bodies of Winch Operator Paul Ormsby and Winchman Ciarán Smith have not been found.
Gardaí say an investigation is currently ongoing.
