Gardai are investigating a serious burglary which occurred at a property in Athlone, Co. Westmeath, in the early hours of September 2, 2023, reports Breaking News.
A man in his 60s was attacked by several people in a private home and a sum of money was confiscated.
The man was taken to Midland Regional Hospital in Tullamore for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Gardaí carried out a technical examination of the scene and investigations are currently underway.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was traveling in the Ballykeeran/Glasson Road (N55) area of Athlone between 1am and 3pm. and 5 a.m. on September 2, 2023 and think you saw something unusual.
Any road user who may have CCTV (including dash cam) footage of this area at this time should make it available to Gardaí, reports Breaking News.
