Gardai in Co Louth issue warning as three cars are stolen

Gardaí in Co Louth are currently  investigating the theft of three vehicles throughout the county which happened on Wednesday morning.

Gardai say they were alerted to a car on fire in the forecourt of a service station on the Kells Road in Ardee at approximately 5.40am on Wednesday morning. They say the small blaze was extinguished and no one was injured. The burnt-out car, a red Peugeot 3008, 11 LH registration, was reported stolen from a house in Newtown, Co. Meath, sometime between the hours of 12 midnight and 5am.

Gardai also say two other vehicles, a white Hyundai i30 Van with a 141 D registration and a white Volkswagen Caddy van, 07 D registration, were also stolen within the county. The caddy van was discovered a short time later at the graveyard in Drumconrath Village, Co. Meath. However the Hyundai has not been recovered.

Gardai are appealing to anyone who may have seen the vehicles travelling between Newtown and Ardee on Wednesday morning to contact them at Ardee Garda Station.
