Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a shooting outside a pub in Ballymore, near Athlone Co Westmeath.
It is understood that a number of shots were fired at approximately 7.30pm yesterday evening, but lucky no one was injured.
Gardaí are also searching for a car involved in the incident, which is believed to be a Hyundai Trajet with a Laois registration, it was last seen travelling in the Athlone direction.
The scene has been preserved for a technical examination.
