Gardai in Cork arrest teenager in connection with hit and run incident that left two-yr-old boy with serious injuries




Gardaí in Co Cork have confirmed that they have arrested a 17-year-old teenager in connection with a hit and run incident which left a two-year-old boy with serious head injuries.

The arrest comes after the boy was struck by blue Mazda car in Castle Meadows housing estate, on the Skehard Road, in Mahon, on Monday afternoon.

It is believed the young boy was taken to Cork University Hospital for treatment, but he has since been transferred to Temple Street Children’s Hospital where he currently remains in serious but stable condition.

Gardaí say the teenager was arrested this afternoon and is currently being detained at Bridewell Garda Station, under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
