Gardai in Drogheda, Co. Louth, have launched an investigation after a 19-year-old man presented himself to A&E at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital with gunshot wounds to one of his legs.
It is understood that the injuries, while serious, were non life-threatening.
Gardai are trying to establish the circumstances surrounding this incident.
