Grim predictions coming from the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI) today, as 80,000 Irish jobs could be on the line in the aftermath of a no-deal Brexit, according to them.
The ESRI warns that many aspects of life in Ireland would likely be impacted if the UK leaves the European Union (EU) in a disorderly fashion, due to a predicted financial slowdown amidst reduced exports and more difficult trading conditions.
While these predictions remain largely theoretical, there are fears of a return to hard borders and complicated travel impositions between Ireland and the UK, should the latter cease being part of the EU.
