Gardai are this evening investigating the circumstances surrounding an alleged abduction attempt in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, earlier today.
The alleged incident reportedly took place when the boy, who was on his way to school, was ‘approached suspiciously’ by a man driving a red, ‘old style’ vehicle, on Ashe Road. The boy refused, and informed his teachers when he got to school.
Gardai said they are taking the allegation seriously, and are looking at CCTV footage.
