Gardai issue stern warning to women out running and walking after woman alleges brutal attack and sexual assault in Irish town




Women have been advised to be extremely vigilant, especially when they’re out on their own while walking or running.

The warning comes following an alleged serious attack and sexual assault in Cork on Wednesday evening.

A female alleged to have been sexually assaulted at an alleyway connecting Brian Boru Street and the Lower Glanmire Road. The area remains sealed with a major garda investigation underway and a profile being built of the attacker.

No description of the attacker has been released at this time.

Gardai have warned women, particularly in the area to be extremely careful especially if they’re out on their own.

Women are advised to be extra careful while out running or walking and not to be using earphones or headphones in closed, quiet and remote areas.
