Gardaí in Sligo town have launched a murder investigation after a man’s body was discovered in a house this afternoon.
It is understood the investigation comes after a man was found at house on Connolly Street at approximately 1:30pm this afternoon.
Gardai say a man aged in his 30s was arrested a short time later and he is currently being detained at Ballymote Garda station.
They also say the deceased man’s body has since been transferred to a nearby hospital were a post-mortem examination will take place.
