Gardai have launched an investigation following the death of a pedestrian after being struck by a van in an Irish county.
The incident happened on the N80 at Clonsoghey, Co. Laois, early this morning.
The victim, a male teenager, was rushed to hospital but was pronounced dead a short time later.
The driver of the van was not injured.
