Gardai mount search operation after group of stowaway refugees escape near Mountmellick in Co. Laois

Gardai are currently searching for a group of five stowaway refugees who escaped from a truck in Laois.

Gardai have said that the refugees may require medical attention after a gruelling journey inside the vehicle.

The group were last spotted in Portlaoise.
