GardaĆ are renewing their appeal to the public for information on the 30th anniversary of the disappearance and murder of Jo Jo Dullard, which occurred on November 9th, 1995.
On that evening, Jo Jo travelled to Dublin and spent time socialising in Bruxelles Bar on Harry Street, Dublin 2, reports Breaking News.
After missing her final bus home to Kilkenny, she boarded a bus to Naas, Co Kildare, at around 10pm, reports Breaking News.
From Naas, Jo Jo planned to hitchhike the remainder of the journey to her home in Callan, Co Kilkenny. She caught a lift from Naas to the slip road on the M9 motorway near Kilcullen, Co Kildare.
At approximately 11:15pm, she got another lift to Moone, Co Kildare, reports Breaking News.
While in Moone, Jo Jo made a phone call to her friend Mary Cullinan at 11:37pm, during which she said a car had stopped for her and that she was about to take the lift, reports Breaking News.
That was the last known contact with Jo Jo Dullard.
The following morning, Friday, November 10th, 1995, Jo Joās sister Kathleen reported her missing, prompting the launch of a missing persons investigation, reports Breaking News.
Jo Jo was 21 years old at the time of her disappearance. Her father, John, had passed away before she was born, and her mother, Nora, died of cancer in 1983.
She was the youngest of five siblings ā her sisters Mary, Nora, and Kathleen, and her brother Thomas, reports Breaking News.
Her disappearance has been the focus of an extensive Garda investigation led by a team based at Naas Garda Station.
The case continues to be reviewed by the Serious Crime Review Team of the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation, reports Breaking News.
In November 2020, on the 25th anniversary of Jo Joās disappearance, GardaĆ officially reclassified the case as a murder investigation.
Investigators believe that Jo Jo suffered serious harm on or around the night of November 9th, 1995, reports Breaking News.
To date, no one has been brought to justice for her murder.
Since the reclassification in 2020, the investigation has remained active and has made progress, with nearly 800 recommendations identified, reports Breaking News.
Thirty years on, GardaĆ continue to appeal to the public for any information related to the disappearance and murder of Jo Jo Dullard on November 9th, 1995.
They are asking anyone who met, saw, or has any information regarding Jo Jo after 11:37pm that night, and who has not yet spoken to investigators, to come forward, reports Breaking News.
In a statement, a Garda spokesperson said: “Jo Jo was in Bruxelles Bar, Harry Street (off Grafton Street), Dublin 2 on the 9th November 1995. Do you remember meeting Jo Jo? Jo Jo had her Sanyo Stereo cassette Player (model MGP21) with her on the 9th November 1995. “GardaĆ continue to appeal to any person who may have previously come forward who felt they could not provide gardaĆ with all the information they had in relation to this matter, to contact the investigation team again.
