Gardaí have said that there has been further cases of spitting and coughing attacks against officers over the last week.
Although Gardai say there has been a very high rate of compliance amongst public, unfortunately there has been an increase in spitting and coughing attacks.
In a statement An Garda Siochana said that there had been six further incidents of spitting or coughing over the last seven days.
The latest figures bring the overall figure of such disgusting incidents to 70.
Gardaí say they have been forced to use spit guards over 50 times in past month.
