Gardai say they have received “no complaint” regarding an alleged assault on a teenage boy during a football game in West Dublin, reports The Mirror.
Disturbing footage has circulated widely on social media, showing a large group of teenagers — some of whom appear to be black — rushing at and attacking a white teen.
The incident gained traction online, with some accounts falsely claiming that the media is deliberately ignoring the attack because of the races of those involved, reports The Mirror.
The footage depicts the teenager being repeatedly kicked and punched while on the ground following a football match in the Adamstown area of Lucan, West Dublin, on Saturday evening.
Other clips show the injured teen with a bloodied face, and later walking away from the scene accompanied by two black teenagers, reports The Mirror.
Despite this, it’s believed the teen seen in the videos has not come forward to speak with gardai — and although officers did respond to the incident, no formal report has been filed.
In a statement to the Irish Mirror, Gardai said they conducted patrols following the alleged incident — but confirmed that no complaint has been received so far.
“Gardaí attended the scene following report of an alleged incident at a sports ground in Adamstown, County Dublin, on Saturday 9th August 2025 at approximately 6.40pm. On arrival, no offences were disclosed. We carried out patrols in the immediate aftermath and no complaint has been made to us. No further information is available,” a Garda spokesperson said, reports The Mirror.
