Gardai and have customs officials have confirmed that 3.3 million cigarettes have been seized at Rosslare Europort.
It’s understood that the cigarettes worth an estimated €2.4m were seized following the search of a container which had a Polish registration.
Gardai say the container had arrived on a ship which travelled from Dunkirk, France.
They added that a man aged in his 40s was questioned in connection with the seizure.
