Gardai have seized €550,000 worth of cannabis and ecstasy tablets after stopping a van in Tipperary earlier today.
The incident happened near the village of Ballinure, Co Tipperary.
Gardai signaled for a van to stop, but the vehicle sped away. Gardai gave chase, and saw two packages being thrown out of the van.
The speeding vehicle was stopped a short distance away and two men were arrested at the scene. A search around the surrounding area yielded the two packages, which contained about €150,000 worth of ecstasy tablets. Follow-up searches yielded €400,000 worth of cannabis.
Around €21,000 in cash was also seized during the raids.
