In what’s being dubbed “operation speed clampdown”, gardai are going to out and about with their speed guns on Friday across the country.
The operation will see high visibility speed enforcement, including all 1,031 speed enforcement zones being manned, as well as the delivery of a road safety message through the use of national, local and social media.
Gardai say the number of road fatalities in 2015 fell compared to the previous year, but are up 13 this year compared to last.
