The Garda whitleblower Sgt Maurice McCabe is currently in a meeting in Garda HQ with new claims that Gardai are indeed still cancelling penalty points for family, friends and possibly celebrities.
Acting Garda Commissioner Niorin O’Sullivan who already ordered a full inquiry into the original claims in June is now said to be somewhat taken aback by these new revelations.
They include significant numbers of gardai letting their family and friends off penalty points for speeding and other offences.
These new allegations have been sent to Minsiter for Justice Frances Fitzgerald.
Rumours are rife that McCabe has again opened up a can of worms for the force.
