As part of their investigation into Kyran Durnin’s disappearance, the GardaĆ have established that the property they are examining in Dundalk, Co Louth, was the little boy’s family home for a number of years, reports RTE.

Up until May of this year, the missing eight-year-old’s family lived at the Emer Terrace residence.

But gardaĆ have made it clear that Kyran and his abduction have nothing to do with the house’s present occupants.

Additionally, Kyran attended a nearby Dundalk primary school until the end of the 2021–2022 academic year, according to GardaĆ, reports RTE.

Additionally, Kyran’s mother, who was originally reported missing along with her son, has been located, they said.

In accordance with a District Court order, the GardaĆ seized control of the Dundalk residence yesterday.

The house is being searched, and the garden and surrounding property will undergo technological and forensic analysis, reports RTE.

The goal of the searches, according to the GardaĆ, is to find any evidence that might tell them where Kyran is or what happened to him.

Chief Superintendent Alan McGovern provided an update on the murder inquiry at a briefing at Dundalk Garda Station.

He said: “An Garda SĆochĆ”na is liaising closely with other state agencies, including Tusla, who are co-operating and assisting fully with this murder investigation. I want to thank members of the public who have contacted the garda investigation team to date. An Garda SĆochĆ”na’s sole focus and primary concern, and that of the investigation team is Kyran,” reports RTE.
