It appears that the early bird doesn’t always get the worm, as eager general election candidates were forced to take down early posters today.
Dáil members and the general public expected the Taoiseach to call the election this afternoon. Several candidates began putting up their posters last night in a bid to get ahead of their competition.
However, it now seems like Enda Kenny will not seek to dissolve the Dáil until tomorrow.
Several would-be TD’s have taken down posters this morning to comply with litter laws as a result.
Under litter laws those running for office cannot put their posters up until the polling order has been made.
