Sinn Féin have condemned the attacks on Gerry Adams and Bobby Storey’s homes on Friday evening.
In a brief statement released on the Sinn Féin party website, the party’s Policing and Justice Spokesperson Gerry Kelly condemned the attacks as a cowardly and desperate attack.
Mr Kelly also said the attacks were the acts of desperate and irrelevant groups.
Mr Kelly’s comments come as explosive devices were thrown at the homes of the Former Sinn Féin party leaders Gerry Adams home.
It is also believed that Mr Storey’s home was also subjected to an attack on Friday evening.
Meanwhile Gerry Adams released a brief statement via his twitter account confirming the attacks.
In the post Mr Adams confirmed there were no injuries following the incident and he also thanked his supporters for their texts, phone calls and messages of support.
Yesterday morning Adams confirmed the incident in a brief press conference in Belfast where he called out those who did the attack to meet with him and tell him why they did and explain what they think will be the benefit of carrying out such explosive device attacks.
Adams went on to say he’s easy to contact, all they have to do is ring any of the Sinn Fein offices to get in touch.
All well here. No one hurt. Thanks 4 all the texts & phone calls. Thanks 2 all the great neighbours, the Neighbourhood Watch & Sinn Féin reps who were here very quickly.
