Gardaí in Co Louth have confirmed that a 14-year-old girl is in critical condition in hospital this evening after being rescued from the sea near Termonfeckin.
It is understood the young who has since been taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, was rescued from the sea after she got into difficulties whilst swimming near Seapoint Beach.
The girl who was believed to be swimming with friends was rescued by crews from two lifeboats before she was airlifted via an Irish Coast Guard helicopter to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.
