Gardaí have confirmed that a nine-year-old girl remains in critical condition in Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin following a road traffic collision in Co Offaly on Monday evening.
The crash which occurred at Scrubb Cross near the village of Killeigh, also tragically saw a man aged in his 20s and a five-year-old boy lose their lives.
It is understood that a boy aged 8 and girl aged 7 are being treated for injuries following the crash which involved a car and an articulated lorry.
Gardaí say the lorry driver was also injured in the collision, but is understood that his injuries are not life-threatening.
They added that an investigation is currently ongoing.
