Global superstar Ed Sheeran maybe gearing himself up to perform in front of a crowd of 80,000 plus at Croke Park this weekend, but tonight he could find himself a new  ‘A-Team’ in the form of Dundalk FC as it has been reported that the ‘Give Me Love’ singer could be heading to Oriel Park to cheer on the lillywhites in their crucial Champions League qualifier.

According to reports it is believed that the multi-award winning singer’s management team have contacted the League of Ireland champions to see if they can purchase two tickets for tonight’s Champions League tie against Belarusian side BATE Borisov.

The crucial match could be worth a potential €1.2m to the County Louth club if they manage to achieve victory tonight. A win would also put the lillywhites into the third round of qualifiers and two rounds away from the lucrative group stage of the competition.

The fixture has been already sold -out, but you can catch all the action live on RTÉ2 from 7:30pm.
