There is good news for thousands of patients who need dialysis as the Beaumont Hospital officially opened its new dialysis treatment centre today.
The new unit which is fully equipped with modern machines will see its capacity increase from 20 to 34 stations.
The new unit which was much needed will now see patients receiving their treatment on a regular basis in a much improved and less cramped environment.
It is understood the small increase in stations will make a huge difference as the life saving treatment can be provided through the working day, rather than having to run through the day and night which caused distress to patients in the past.
