Condoms could soon be free at pubs, nightclubs and universities under new proposals being backed by the Government.
According to The Irish Sun newspaper, the move which will see vending machines dispense free condoms at popular socialising venues, comes as the HSE looks to ramp up its efforts to promote safe sex amongst young people.
The paper states that the overall cost of the scheme would be €500,000 and has seemingly recieved the backing of the Minister for Health Simon Harris.
Although plans have yet to be finalised, it is expected that plans will be implemented sometime within the next year.
