Moroccan authorities have now detained fifteen people in connection with the killing of two Norwegian women whose decapitated bodies were found in the Atlas mountains on December 17 last.

The two young women were named as 24-year-old Louisa Jespersen and 28-year-old Maren Ueland, 28. Both were on a month-long trip across North Africa at the time of the killing.

Twenty people have been arrested so far, with fifteen of them remaining in custody.

It is understood that at least four of the detainees have ties to a group inspired by the infamous Islamic State terrorist group.

A video appeared online apparently showing the young women being beheaded.
