Government gets urged to provide long-term immigration solutions as polls shows public unrest

The government is facing calls to improve its provision of accommodation for immigrants, reports Breaking News.

The Coalition is reviewing the current system in light of the influx of Ukrainian refugees in Ireland following Russia’s invasion of their country.

A recent Business Post/Red C poll revealed that 38% of people believe that these refugees should continue to be housed in local communities, while 34% want large, state-owned centres to be provided, reports Breaking News.

The same poll indicated that 66% of respondents think that Ireland has taken in too many refugees.

Furthermore, the latest poll by The Irish Times/Ipsos B&A published on Monday suggests that immigration is the top issue that voters have been paying attention to lately, reports Breaking News.
