Government set to consider proposals that could allow 100 guests at a wedding

The Cabinet are expected to meet later today in order to discuss guidelines surrounding wedding events.

It is understood that Government ministers will meet to discuss the prospect of raising attendance numbers to 100.

Although no official decision has been made it is thought that ministers will discuss the possibility of using the Covid-19 vaccine certificate system at venues holding weddings.

The discussions come after a number of hotels have called on thr Government to give further clarity surrounding weddings.

Hoteliers say that weddings are controlled environments which are held in rooms and areas that will allow for adequate social distancing.

Under the current guidelines only 50 people are permitted to attend a wedding event.
