The government won’t rule out further increases in monies being paid to people who are housing Ukrainians around the country.
Many people on social media have accused the government of trying to bribe the Irish people with payments to take in as many Ukrainians into their home as possible.
The Government has announced an increase in the money paid to families hosting Ukrainian refugees.
The current monthly rate of €400 is likely to increase to €700.
It is understood that the increase will happen in the coming weeks, and that it is separate from any Budget measure.
